The inauguration ceremony of the higher diploma in marketing was successfully held on 21st August 2022 via zoom. As a result of realizing its social responsibility, the department of marketing management has introduced this program to its external students. Department of marketing management has figured out the potential emerging trends in the marketing profession and advancing needs of the stakeholders. The higher diploma in marketing is a qualification that emerged as a result of fulfilling the industry and academic needs.  

The welcome speech was delivered by the Head of the Marketing Department, Prof. Ravi Dissanayake. He explained that the department of marketing management was the first to become ISO certified department in the university sector and it has provided many valuable products to the fields.  

The chief guest of the event was Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, who is the dean of the faculty of commerce and management studies and he further explained that the importance of becoming a diploma holder and he shared valuable thoughts about the diploma program.  

The keynote speaker for the day was Mr. Prashan costa who is currently working as the head of marketing at CEAT Sri Lanka. He shared his insights to the participants by explaining his journey started from pharmaceutical products to FMCG and lubricants. He shared the key insights experienced throughout the journey very meaningfully. The vote of thanks was delivered by the course coordinator, Mr. Nisal Gunerwardena and the introduction session was conducted after the inauguration ceremony to all the participants via zoon platform
