Prof. Bandara Wanninayake is a distinguished academic renowned for his outstanding contributions to teaching, learning, and research excellence. Currently serving as a Professor in Marketing at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, he is widely recognized for his academic achievements and expertise in the field. Prof. Bandara holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, a PhD from Tomas Bata University in the Czech Republic, an MBA from the University of Colombo, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK. Notably, he was awarded a gold medal in recognition of his exceptional performance in the MBA program.

In his current role as the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies at the University of Kelaniya, Prof. Bandara provides visionary leadership that drives academic and institutional success. Over the years, he has held several key positions at the university, including Head of the Department of Marketing Management and Director of the Staff Development Center, demonstrating his strong commitment to institutional growth. His expertise lies in the domain of consumer behavior, and he has successfully led numerous industry consultancy and market research projects, offering valuable insights and practical solutions to businesses.

Prof. Bandara’s teaching portfolio includes strategic marketing management, consumer behavior, and research methodology, which he delivers with dedication and precision. His influence extends beyond his home institution, as he is a sought-after visiting faculty member for several prestigious local and international degree programs. An accomplished researcher, Prof. Bandara has authored and co-authored over 50 research papers published in leading international indexed and peer-reviewed journals. He has also presented his work at more than 20 international conferences and has chaired and co-chaired sessions at numerous academic gatherings, further strengthening his reputation as a thought leader in the field.
