Diploma in ERP Workshop: Innovate and Transform with Design Thinking and AI
The Department of Marketing Management of the University of Kelaniya successfully organised a landmark workshop titled "Innovate and Transform: A Workshop on Design Thinking and AI with SAP" on Saturday, November 23, 2024, under the Diploma in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program. Attracting over 150 participants from both internal and external batches, the event marked a significant milestone as the largest workshop ever conducted for the diploma program.
The day commenced with welcoming remarks by the Head of the Department, Dr. Sugeeth Patabendige, and the Coordinator of the Diploma in ERP, Ms. Isuri Udara, followed by an energizing icebreaker session that set a collaborative and engaging tone. The workshop featured two esteemed speakers: Mr. Ajay Tikare, Engineering Leader at SAP Labs India Pvt Ltd, delivered an insightful lecture on "Transforming Business Applications with AI and Generative AI with SAP." His session explored the transformative potential of AI in enterprise systems, equipping participants with actionable knowledge on the integration of generative AI in business applications. Meanwhile, Mr. Akila Sajith Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of Digitus Tec Pty Ltd, conducted an immersive and hands-on session on "Design Thinking for Non-Designers." This session introduced participants to design thinking principles, emphasizing user-centric approaches to problem-solving and innovation. Through practical exercises and real-world examples, Mr. Kumar guided participants on generating creative solutions, collaborating effectively, and applying design thinking methodologies in diverse business contexts.
Participant feedback underscored the workshop's success, highlighting its engaging content and dynamic approach. The event not only enriched the learning experience but also set a benchmark for future initiatives under the Diploma in ERP program.
