Inauguration Ceremony of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Batch 15
The Kelaniya MBA is one of the best-established Master of Business Administration programmes in Sri Lanka. Since its inspection, it has striven to develop bold business leaders who can provide an enterprising and entrepreneurial approach to management. The utmost promise of Kelaniya MBA is to provide excellence of learning experience facilitated by innovative teaching strategies with well- qualified and experienced faculty.
The Inaugural Ceremony of the 15th batch of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree programme offered by the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies (FCMS) of the University of Kelaniya was successfully held on the 16th of October via online platform. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice chancellor, University of Kelaniya; Senior Professor Ariyaratne Jayamaha, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS); Dr. Narada Fernando, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Mr. Supun Weerasinghe, Director/Group Chief Executive Officer at Dialog Axiata PLC; Dr.A.M.I.Lakshan, Coordinator of the MBA programme and Dr.Ruwani Fernando, Technical Coordinator of the MBA programme.
After the welcome of the guests of the ceremony, Dr.Fernando referred to remarks of the programme, accomplishments of students, staff and alumni. Further, he emphasized the quality of the learning process of the MBA programme.
The Chief Guest of the day, Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva appreciated the challenge the FCMS had taken during the pandemic to ensure the smooth functioning of the postgraduate progrmmes of the faculty.
Next, Senior Professor Jayamaha addressed the learning partners as the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. He highlighted the salient features of the postgraduate programmes of the University of Kelaniay and brief the newly implemented systems to the postgraduate students.
Mr. Supun Weerasinghe as the Keynote Speaker of the day emphasized the importance of having a master’s qualification while working at the industry. Further, he stressed the need of bringing the industry knowledge and experiences to the MBA programme and sharing the experiences among the other learning partners during this journey.
Concluding remarks and vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Lakshan. He closed his remarks citing the achievements and salient features of the MBA progamme.
