DFIN Shines: University of Kelaniya's Department of Finance Triumphs in Inter-University Debate Competition

The Department of Finance at the University of Kelaniya has achieved a remarkable victory in the "Magnate 2024" Inter-University Debate Competition. The team showcased their exceptional skills, knowledge, and teamwork throughout the event.

This event was organized by the Department of Finance at the University of Colombo in collaboration with several corporate partners, the competition drew participation from many esteemed state universities, highlighting Kelaniya's win as a significant achievement.

Preliminary and Semi-Final Rounds

The team's journey to victory began on August 30th in the preliminary round, where they competed against University of Colombo Team 02. Advancing to the semi-final on September 7th, they faced University of Jayawardenepura Team 03, marking a crucial step towards the championship.

Final Round

The final round, held on September 13th, 2024, at the East Wing Conference Hall, Faculty of Management and Finance.The battle was between  University  of Kelaniya and University of Sri Jayawardanapura team 02. University  of Kelaniya  showcased the team's expertise and composure. They clinched the championship, with Amani Najumudeen recognized as the Best Speaker and Usman Ahamed named the Most Popular Speaker.
