The Department of Accountancy successfully conducted a workshop titled “The Art of Presentation” on 23^rd July 2022 via zoom. This workshop was conducted as a part of the workshop series conduct under the course module BACC 42488 – Dissertation in Accounting for the Academic Year 2020/2021. The purpose of this workshop was to prepare the 4^th  year undergraduates of the Department of Accountancy, for the “FIVE Minute” research challenge in the Student Conference of the ICARE 2022. The workshop was successfully conducted with the participation of more than 100 undergraduates in the department.

The resource person was Ms. Supuni Dhameera Silva (MSc, PhD Student at University of North Texas) who is also a Public Speaking Coach, and Science Communicator. Ms. Supuni is the winner of the Three Minutes Thesis (3MT) Competition conducted by University of North Texas, USA and a semi-finalist at the 3MT Competition - Conference of Southern Graduate Schools, USA.

“Career Prospects in Accounting 2022”, the Career and Internship Fair organized by the Department of Accountancy of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies was held on 24 June 2022 providing a great platform to find jobs for Accountancy and Forensic Accounting undergraduates of the department who are looking for internship training as the starting point to their career.

Further, as a part of this career fair, guest lectures focusing on CV Writing and Interview Skills were conducted in advance to build the capabilities of the undergraduates to face the challenges of the corporate world. Nine reputed audit and non-audit firms namely KPMG, EY Sri Lanka, Deloitte, Jayasinghe & Company, BDO Partners, Kreston Sri Lanka, Carter De Costa & Company, MAS Capital (Private) Limited, and HSBC joined with the Career Prospects in Accounting 2022 to offer internship opportunities to undergraduates of the Department of Accountancy.
