MoU Between the University of Kelaniya and Fortude (Pvt) Ltd

MoU between the University of Kelaniya and Fortude (Pvt) Ltd was a significant move towards enriching the educational experience and enhancing the career prospects of undergraduates pursuing the Bachelor of Business Management Honors in Accounting Information Systems degree program, at the Department of Accountancy of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. The University of Kelaniya and Fortude (Pvt) Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 13th of October 2023 at the Senate Room of the University of Kelaniya.

The MOU outlines a collaborative partnership designed to empower students and bridge the gap between the academic and the professional world.

The primary objective of this partnership is to offer specialized educational opportunities for eligible students at the University of Kelaniya in the Bachelor of Business Management Honors in Accounting Information Systems degree program. This MOU signifies a joint commitment to fostering academic excellence and professional preparedness, offering students the tools they need to thrive in the rapidly evolving field of Accounting Information Systems.

Fortude has committed to providing internship opportunities for eligible students enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Management Honours in Accounting Information Systems degree program. These internships will enable students to gain real-world, hands-on experience within the industry, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities that await in their professional careers. Furthermore, Fortude will provide a specialized certificate course relevant to the Accounting Information System field for the AIS Undergraduates.

Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya,  Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka, the Registrar, Prof. Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, Prof. D. K. Y. Abeywardena, Head of the Department of Accountancy along with esteemed professors, senior lecturers, and lecturers participated the event representing the University while Director Mr. Arjuna Sirinanda, Head of Global Employer Branding and International Communication Marketing Ms. Cassandra Mascarenhas, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Hemantha Rodrigo, and Chief Architect - Infor Services Mr. Niranjan Vaidyakularatne represented Fortude (Pvt) Limited.
