Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya signed an MoU with Ernst and Young, Chartered Accountants
Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ernst and Young, Chartered Accountants on 12 February 2015 paving the way for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two institutions in a range of areas, including academic and professional development of human capital, providing internship opportunities, organizing workshops for enhancing students’ soft skills and seminars for disseminating contemporary issues in Accounting and Auditing and extended support for continuous professional development.
This MoU was signed by Prof. Sunanda Madduma Bandara, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya and Mr. Ruwan Fernando, Partner, Ernst and Young with the presence of Dr.D.M.Semasinghe, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Dr.M.W.Madurapperuma, Head, Department of Accountancy and Mr.Devaka Coorey, Partner and Head of Talents, Ernst and Young.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Madurapperuma stated that “ the presence of collaboration between one of the BIG-3 Global Audit firms and presented the implementation of activities stated in the MoU signed”.
Mr. Devaka Cooray emphasized ‘value-addition and exposure obtained by the trainees working in Global Audit firms eventually lead to market talents of young qualified individuals in overseas operation and to obtain competitive 6-figure salaries’.
