The Finance Summit 2025, organized by the Students’ Association of Financial Management, was successfully held on 7th November 2025 at the Sunil Shantha Memorial Auditorium, University of Kelaniya. The event was conducted under the theme “Sustainable Sri Lanka: Reporting with Purpose under SLFRS S1 & S2.”

The summit was held in two insightful phases - the CFO Forum and the launch of the 11th edition of Finance Today Magazine.

The CFO Forum was expertly moderated by Dr. Ruwan Lasantha, Senior Lecturer, Department of Commerce and Financial Management. The distinguished panel featured Mr. Sampath Jayawardana, Senior Director – Climate Change and Sustainability Services, Ernst & Young; Ms. Prashani Illangasekara, General Manager – Group ESG, Hayleys PLC; and Mr. Nuwan Pathirana, Head of Sustainability, Sampath Bank PLC.

The event’s keynote Address was delivered by Ms. Nishani Perera, Partner – Moore Aiyar and Director – Moore Consulting (Pvt) Ltd, who shared valuable insights on integrating sustainability into financial reporting and corporate decision-making.

Professor H.A.K.N.S. Surangi, Head of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, adding further prestige to the event.

The Finance Summit 2025 served as a platform for academics, professionals, and undergraduates to engage in meaningful discussions on the future of sustainability reporting and its role in shaping a responsible corporate Sri Lanka.
