The Department of Commerce and Financial Management (DCFM) of the University of Kelaniya marked a significant milestone on 13th November 2025 with the grand opening of its newly established department office. The ceremonial event brought together academic staff, administrators, students, and well-wishers to celebrate this important enhancement to the department’s infrastructure and service delivery.

The new office represents a key step in strengthening the department’s administrative efficiency, academic coordination, and student support capabilities. Designed with a modern and student-friendly layout, the facility provides an improved working environment for staff while offering students a more accessible space for inquiries, guidance, and academic-related services.

The event was held with the participation of the Vice Chancellor, who attended as the Chief Guest, and the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, who served as the Guest of Honour. During the opening, the Head of the Department highlighted the importance of this development in supporting DCFM’s long-term vision of academic excellence and innovation.
