The Department of Commerce and Financial Management distinguished itself as three of its academic staff received VC awards, demonstrating the department's commitment to academic excellence and research achievements.
The first awardee, Prof. H.A.K.N.S. Surangi, secured the second-place position for Outstanding Researcher in the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. Prof. Surangi's dedicated efforts and contributions to research have significantly elevated the academic standing of the department. Dr. Srinath Dissanayake, another distinguished member of the department received recognition as the successful director of a center/unit within the University of Kelaniya. Dr. Dissanayake's leadership has played a pivotal role in the success and growth of Central Business Incubator in the year of 2023. Adding to the list of accomplished individuals, Ms. R.S. Ranwala received the recognition for Outstanding Young Researcher, securing the second place in the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies. Ms. Ranwala's achievement highlights the department's commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering an environment for research.
Furthermore, the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies (FCMS) secured the 2nd place for the Best Faculty Website. Dr. Madurika Nanayakkara, the lead for Web and Analytics in the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, played a crucial role in the significantly revamping the FCMS website.
