In a remarkable effort to uplift education in rural areas, the Association of Business Technology of the University of Kelaniya undertook a community development project in collaboration with the AHEAD project.
The project focused on enhancing the quality of education at Ambala Maha Vidyalaya in Beliatta. On the 25th of May 2023, this ambitious initiative commenced with the goal of renovating poorly maintained buildings within the school premises. Recognizing the importance of education in shaping the future of young minds, the project sought to improve the learning outcomes and overall educational experience of the students at Ambala Maha Vidyalaya. By providing a conducive environment for learning, the project aimed to empower the students and pave the way for their success.
The dilapidated state of the school's buildings had long been a hindrance to effective teaching and learning. However, the Association of Business Technology, in partnership with the AHEAD project, undertook the challenge to transform the school. The project involved renovation work, including repairs to walls, floors, and painting. A team of dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to bring about positive change in the school. Their efforts resulted in the complete revitalization of the buildings, giving them a fresh lease of life. The renovated classrooms and facilities provided a safe and engaging environment that fostered learning and growth.
