The Vice-Chancellor's Awards 2024 ceremony was held on the 1st of January 2025 at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall, University of Kelaniya. This event celebrated the achievements of outstanding staff members at the university, highlighting their contributions to research and service.
During the ceremony, four distinguished academics from the Department of Commerce and Financial Management were honored with awards for their remarkable accomplishments.
Award Recipients:
- Prof. H.A.K.N.S. Surangi
Prof. Surangi was acknowledged as the Outstanding Researcher in the FCMS and was further honored as the Researcher with the Highest Number of Publications in Indexed Journals.
- Prof. C. Pathirawasam
Prof. Pathirawasam, the Director of the Quality Assurance Centre at the University of Kelaniya, was recognized for his exceptional leadership and contributions to quality assurance within the university. In addition, he was honored with the Long Service Award for his 25 years of dedicated service as an academic, reflecting his enduring commitment to education and institutional excellence.
- Prof. K.G.M. Nanayakkara
Prof. Nanayakkara received the award for being the Outstanding Researcher in the FCMS (Second Place).
- Dr. Srinath Dissanayake
Dr. Dissanayake was awarded the title of Outstanding Young Researcher in the FCMS.
