MBUS 51013: Financial Reporting and Analysis
This course module aims to provide a broader understanding of conceptual framework in financial reporting
and regulatory environment, corporate governance and ethics in financial reporting; Analysis of accounting
systems and processes, control accounts; Application of applicable accounting standards in Financial
Reporting; Analysis and interpretation of financial statements for sole proprietorships, partnerships,
companies; Develop and communicate corporate reports on business analysis including financial analysis;
Integrated Case Studies in Accounting; Contemporary Developments in Accounting and Finance; Cloud
accounting, blockchain, big data, data analytics in corporate reporting.
MBUS 51023: Information Management
Business leaders and entrepreneurs must comprehend the economics, technological advances, and
management practices of technological adoption since the digital revolution rapidly transforms the core
fundamentals of many businesses across various industries. Information Management is the key to the
success of any business organisation. This module aims at strengthening the understanding of the use of
information systems in organizations, Information Systems in Global Business today, IT Infrastructure and
Emerging Technologies, Key System Applications for the Digital Age in achieving Operational Excellence and
Customer Intimacy, Introduction to Business Intelligence, including Intelligence tools and data analytics.
MBUS 51033: Corporate Finance
One of the forward-looking languages of business is finance. This course module aims to equip students
with a fundamental understanding of corporate finance aspects. This course applies the concept of
corporate finance, recognize the fundamentals of the time value of money, risk and return concepts in
a standalone and portfolio context, explore how to value securities and value the business using cash
flows, comprehends and apply the calculation of the component cost of capital, Weighted Average Cost
of Capital, apply learning experiences of corporate finance by aligning contemporary developments in the
business finance through practical scenarios.
MBUS 51043: Management Accounting
This module aims to provide students with a strong foundation in management accounting principles and
equip them with the tools necessary to support effective decision-making and control within business
organizations. This module covers cost management and decision-making, short-term decision-making,
budgeting and forecasting, advanced aspects in investment appraisal, divisional performance measures,
applying life cycle costing techniques in decision-making, quality and environmental cost management,
standard costing, variance analysis and reporting, pricing decisions and profitability analysis, activity-
based management and profitability analysis, ethics in management accounting.
MBUS 51053: Business Statistics
This course module is designed to provide a solid foundation in statistical techniques for data-driven
business decision-making and its applications in the various business domains. The course focuses on
developing critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in data analysis, effective communication of
statistical findings, developing analytical skills and draw conclusions using real business information.
