An MoU was signed between the University of Kelaniya and Union Assurance PLC on the 01st of October 2024 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. The MoU was signed to provide Management Trainee opportunities and Internship opportunities for the students in the Bachelor of Business Management Honours in Insurance Degree programme of the Department of Finance.

Present at the occasion were Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Prof.Bandara Wanninayake, Dean- Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Dr. J.M.R.Fernando, Head- Department of Finance, Prof. S.S.Weligamage, Mr Ruwan Buddhika, Coordinator –Insurance Programme and other academic staff members of the Department of Finance. Ms. Nisansala Paranayapa, Chief People Officer, Union Assurance PLC, Mr.Dahami Pathirana, Head of Talent and Organization Development, Union Assurance PLC, Ms. Deshani Rodrigo, Assistant Manager – Talent Engagement, Union Assurance PLC, Ms. Midushiga Sivalingam, Assistant Manager – Talent Acqusition, Ms.Uththara Kapugamage, HR Business Partner, Union Assurance PLC graced the event on behalf of Union Assurance PLC.
