On 1 April 2020, Te Pūkenga - New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (Te Pūkenga) was established as a Crown Entity and tertiary education institution. The creation of Te Pūkenga is a key component of the Reform of Vocational Education (RoVE); a reform which seeks to create a strong, unified, sustainable vocational education system that is fit for the future of work and delivers the skills that learners, employers and communities need to thrive.
Te Pūkenga is bringing together all existing Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics and most of the Industry Training Organisations in New Zealand into one organisation. Over time, it will work towards providing programmes to its learners under a unified system.

Complete Your study in New Zealand

Students who complete Master of Business (MBus) can directly enroll to the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) – Level 08 at Unitec – New Zealand with exemptions for Five (05) subjects with One & a half years of student visa.

MPA provides the students with the academic requirement for membership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA Australia).



Eligibility Criteria

  1. A student who successfully completes the Master of Business Degree (MBus) with a minimum of Grade B- for the course units in Year I, will get exemptions (Cross Credit Transfer) for the below course units in the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) – Level 08.
  • ACTY8101 Financial Accounting
  • ACTY8103 Strategic Management Accounting
  • ACTY8105 Audit & Assurance
  • ACTY8106 Accounting Information Systems

 

  1. Students should meet the necessary English language proficiency.
 2.1. Students will be requested to provide evidence that he or she satisfies the English Language proficiency set out by New Zealand Qualification Authority https://www.nzqa.govt.nz/ providers-partners/qa-system-for-teos/english-international-students/

 2.2. A UoK Student who does not meet the English Language Requirements may be able to pathway into the Unitec Programme after completing Unitec’s New Zealand Certificate in English Language (“NZCEL”) with a pass in NZCEL (Level 4 or 5).

 2.3. If a UoK student pathways through NZCEL, the total length of their study at Unitec will be increased by the time taken to complete NZCEL. Subject to all visa requirements being in place, the UoK Student will be enrolled in a Unitec Programme in the academic year that starts immediately after that UoK Student’s completion of NZCEL (Level 4 or 5).
