13th Students’ Research Symposium Focuses on Sustainable Finance and Global Change
The Department of Finance of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, successfully hosted the 13th Students’ Research Symposium (SRS) on November 19, 2024. The event, held under the theme “Sustainable Finance and Global Change: Navigating the Financial Landscape of Tomorrow,” shed light on emerging trends and challenges in finance, insurance, and banking, providing fresh perspectives for the future of these sectors.
The Inauguration Ceremony was held at the Sunil Shantha Memorial Auditorium. The Chief Guest for the event Prof. Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, and the keynote address was delivered by Mrs. Dananjani Basnayake, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Finance, who shared insights into the evolving dynamics of the financial world and its implications for sustainable development.
A special session on “Research and Publication” was conducted by Dr. Amila Rajapaksha, Director of the Center for Management Research (CMR). This session aimed to enhance the research capabilities of participants, emphasizing the importance of high-quality academic contributions in shaping the future of the financial industry.
Academic staff, undergraduates from the Department of Finance were attended this event.
SRS 2024 not only provided a platform for students to showcase their research but also fostered collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders in finance and related fields.
This symposium continues to serve as a milestone of academic excellence and innovation, addressing the pressing issues of sustainability and global change in the financial landscape.
