Introductory Seminar on IFRS and IFRIC

An Introductory Seminar on IFRS and IFRIC organized by the Department of Accountancy in collaboration with CA Sri-Lanka was held on 5th June 2015 at the Auditorium, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

Mr. Upendra Wijesinghe (Head – Technical CA Sri-Lanka) and Mr. Sanjaya Bandara (Partner - B R De Silva & Co., Council Member - CA Sri-Lanka) were the two resource personals who participated to conduct the seminar.

This event was graced and participated by , Dr.P.M.C.Thilakarathne, Director-Centre for Distant and Continuity Education-Senior Lecturer-Department of Accountancy, Mr. R.M.S. Bandara, Licentiate Officer for the MOU between the Department of Accountancy and CA Sri-Lanka and  Senior Lecturer Department of Accountancy, Mr.Prabath Perera, Senior Treasurer-ASAK- Lecturer-Department of Accountancy, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers and the undergraduates of the Department of Accountancy.

This seminar was organized as a result of the MOU between the Department of Accountancy and CA Sri-Lanka with the objective of enhancing the academic knowledge on the relevant Accounting Standards and their practical application of the undergraduates of the Department of Accountancy.

The seminar started at around 9.00am and was conducted till 4.00pm and it helped to improve the knowledge of the undergraduates of the Department of Accountancy on IFRSs and IFRIC and recent changes that have been taken place during the past year.
