The Department of Accountancy, University of Kelaniya invited Emeritus Professor Keith Houghton from Australian National University, Australia to conduct research coaching sessions and research workshops for academic staff of the DOA, followed by a series of workshops for undergraduate students of the DOA, postgraduate students of the University of Kelaniya and industry partners.

The primary objective of Professor Houghton’s visit was to enhance and strengthen the research skills of the early and mid-career researchers. The participants reported that all the sessions were encouraging and they are now devoting and pro-actively setting aside more time and effort for research.

Professor Houghton is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and holds degrees from the University of Western Australia, University of Melbourne and the London School of Economics (University of London).
