The primary objective of this course is to provide an understanding of how human resource information systems are applied in organizations to support organizational strategy, improve efficiency and flexibility, increase productivity and performance. The focus will be on merging computer technology with a human resource management perspective. This course provides students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to identify, assess, and maintain an effective system for managing human resources information.

By the end of this course unit students should be able to:
  • Define what is HRIS and its basic functions
  • Identify how the HRIS change with the Information Technology
  • Explain modern HR process and how it change from the traditional HR process
  • Apply modern HRIS strategies in modern business organizations

Course Content :

Introduction to HRIS, Information requirements in HRM, HRM process; traditional Vs. Modern. Application of HRIS in HR process activities, selection, orientation, training and development, performance evaluation etc., HR perspective of ERP and introduction of HRIS application software

End Semester Examination, Assignments and Tests
