This course module is designed to provide experience in computer application in order to equip students with basic skills to operate personal computers in routine office applications.

By the end of this course unit students should be able to:
  • identify the components and functionality of personal computers
  • operate personal computers in practical applications
  • apply appropriate software tools for their routine requirements
  • trace the information available in the internet

Course Content : Basic concepts of information technology; Using a computer and managing files; Word processing; Spread sheets; Presentation Software; Internet and Email

Lectures and Practical Sessions

Scheme of Evaluation:

Practical Examinations and Assignments. The weights given to each component of the evaluation method is announced at the commencement of the module.
