This course module is designed to provide a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the laws and regulation related to business environment of Sri Lanka.
Learning Outcome : aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

By the end of this course unit students should be able to:

  • identify the role of laws in the context of business
  • identify the laws related to business activities in Sri Lanka
  • apply different rules and regulations in resolving practical issues


Course Content : Introduction to Law, Law of Contract, Law of Agency, Law of Sale of Goods, Law related to Hire Purchasing Agreements, Law of Negotiable Instruments, Company Law, Law of Partnership, Law of Insurance, and Law relating to Intellectual Property.

Method of Teaching & Learning:

Lectures, Discussions &self-learning.

Scheme of Evaluation:

End semester examination. The weights given to each component of the evaluation method is announced at the commencement of the course unit.
