This course module is designed to improve the knowledge of business information systems in modern world to improve the efficiency and productivity of the organization.

By the end of this course unit students should be able to:

  • define the various information systems in the organization
  • manage information systems and technology in an organization
  • design appropriate information systems for business organizations

Course Content : Managing the Digital Firm, Information Systems: Organizations, Management, and Strategy, Competing with Information Technology,Redesigning the Organization with Information Systems, Understanding the Business Value of Systems and Managing Change, Developing Business/IT Strategies, Ethical and Social Issues in the Digital Firm, Information Systems Security and Control, Global Management of Information.

Method of Teaching & Learning:

Lectures, Case studies and classroom activities and discussions.

Scheme of Evaluation:

Assignments, Presentations and End semester Examination. The weights given to each component of the evaluation method is announced at the commencement of the course unit.
