This course module is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge on the application of financial strategies through the cases in the corporate world
Learning Outcome : aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
By the end of this course unit students should be able to:
  • understand and evaluate different investment and divestment  strategies
  • apply concepts of capital budgeting, capital structure and cost of capital on real life cases
  • describe working capital management strategies and its application
  • understand dividend distribution policy and its impact to the value of the firm


Course Content : Growth strategies for increasing value; Mergers and Acquisitions, Buy Back of shares, Leverage Buy Outs, Divestment, Financial Restructuring, Dividend Distribution Policy. Strategies on Working Capital Management; Practical Applications of Capital Budgeting Decision; Capital Structure and Cost of Capital theories

Method of Teaching & Learning:

Lectures, Class Room Discussions, Case studies

Scheme of Evaluation:

Assignments, Presentations and End semester examination.

The weights given to each component of the evaluation method is announced at the commencement of the module.
