Aim                                                : To; (i) provide the overview of organizational Behaviour, (ii) provide a systematic and rational approach to the analysis of issues with special reference to the real world practice.

 

Learning Outcomes             : On completion of this course unit , students should be able to;

  • identify, describe and explain the nature and the scope of the organizational behaviour
  • apply the knowledge on organization behaviour to solve the problems related to human behaviour
  • formulate methods for predicting and controlling of human behaviour in organization

 

Course Content                    : Introduction to organizational behaviour; definitions, nature and scope of organizational behaviour, challenges   and   opportunities   for organizational behaviour. Analysis of individual behaviour; personality and emotions, perception process,   learning, values and attitudes. Group behaviour   of organization; group dynamics and teams, group   conflicts and negotiation, leadership, power and polities, communication. Macro perspectives of organizational behaviour; organizational culture, organizational change and development, occupational stress, knowledge management.

‘The 2nd National Summit on People Management 2017′ (NSPM 2017) organised by the Department of Human Resource Management of the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies, University of Kelaniya was successfully conducted on the 12th of December 2017 at the Kingsbury, Colombo. The theme this time was ‘‘Peopling for Innovation’ that discussed particularly HRD issues at different performance contexts: corporates; industry; and national level. The specialty of this summit was that it congregated stakeholders from the academia, practice, policy-making process and postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
