Aim                                         : To provide the essential knowledge on Industrial Psychology to understand the human behaviour in organisations.

 

Learning Outcomes : On completion of this course unit, students should be able to;

  • define the nature and scope of industrial Psychology
  • explain and describe the relationship between Industrial  Psychology and Human Resource Management
  • apply psychological knowledge on work setting

 

Course Content                     : History of  industrial psychology; definitions, history of industrial psychology. Working conditions at workplace; physical working conditions, psychological and social issues at workplace. Psychological testing; principles of psychological testing, types of psychological testing, limitations. Research methods in psychology; define a psychological research, requirements of psychological research, limitations of psychological research, methods for  psychological research. Values, attitudes and behaviours; individual differences. Conflicts and groups; define conflicts, types of conflict, causes of conflict, managing conflict and group behaviour. Problem solving for organizations; define problem solving, group conditions of problem solving, pre-conditions to problem solving and decision making, processes involved in decision making, principles of group problem solving.

AHEAD fight Dengue
